Well after spending three days in Bonnyville AB at a family reunion, with a 10 hour drive both ways, I'm back. Yah! ;D Here are some shots from the trip. Enjoy!
Also keep in mind that all of these shots are unmodified.
Thursday August 3rd:
I finally got to railfan when we stopped in Jasper AB for lunch. And what was the first thing I got to see? Well this beautiful CN Mountain Type Class U-1-A #6015 of course. ;D
Left side
Right side
Rear view
A plague describing the locomotive
Then I just took some various shots of stuff in the yard before we had to continue on to Edmonton;
CN SD60F #5505
Two ex-BCR boxcars and a odd little tanker
VIA Rail F40PH #6404 sitting on the siding
CN DASH 8-40CM #2408 and BCR DASH 8-40CM #4623 get ready to stop for a crew change
CN DASH 9-44CW #2507 and CN/IC Dash 8-40C #2458 come to a stop for a crew change
On August 4th, 5th and 6th I couldn't do any railfaning. Sadly the line that ran through Bonnyville was ripped out years ago.
On August 6th we headed back to the Okanagan Valley and yet again we stoped in Jasper for lunch. So I did a little more foaming... like duh eh!
VIA Rail's Skeena rests on the siding. The train goes from Jasper AB to Prince Rupert BC
This coach is one of a kind
A rear view of the train
The CN Office in Town
CN DASH 8-40CM #2435 and CN SD75I #5769 sit in the yard. This is by far my favorite shot from the trip.
Two freshly painted Saskatchewan Grain hoppers were on the train. First time I've seen em too
And those are the shots...
