Since here is a forum that isn't yet completely tired of my shots at 'the curve', here are a few that I took on a recent railfanning trip to Virginia. For you that don't know about the curve, it's a mile east of the small yard at Virginia, and goes around the rim of Redrock Canyon, with a wooden trestle as well as a short steel span. The curve is also starting to become known to locals as "Matt's curve", because of the sheer amount of time I spend there. Today traffic was light, but I caught a pair of freights. I'm in good standing with the crews, and since traffic is light, I can usually get them to stop for me if I need so (And if they're not near the tonnage limit, it's the steepest stretch of the grade!) First came along a mixed with a pair of geeps on the headend. Next I hit a jackpot! An ABA trio of C-Liners on the point of a grain drag! Lucky those locos were CLC, otherwise I doubt they'd be able to get going again!
