Post whatever screenshots you have of any BCLW releases in action on any route. I look forward to seeing our releases in action!

Ok, its my first post and I just want to say I love this BC Rail GE. It is awsome, but can someone suggest a good horn for it. right now I'm using the horn that came with NBRM's C40-8M. preparing to leave Field. close up. someone on here said not to get this model but I think its a very good engine. I highly recommend it SD75I #5672. Caught this NS "Big John" hopper with a bunch od Canadian hoppers. other side of the tracks.

You can use the horn from the BCLW SD40-2 Mega Pack

Mmm... I was just about to post a couple screenshots, anyway, which do feature some of the BCLW's RS 18's , so might as well post them here. I was "tweaking" around with the "smoke" envelope and "parameters" for those, inside the ENG file , and after much time spent on this ( well ... 2-3 entire days until 3- 4 AM ... ), I realized that what was originally provided with the BCLW pack, was actually very close to ideal ....Go figure ! '-) First screenshot show the 3 of the RS 18 engines in "Notch 1" ( 13% ) . ALCO's had this reputation of shooting thick black smoke as soon as the throttle was cracked open . The second screenshot shows at Notch 8 (100%) , where the Alcos also had a reputation for "clouds" of black smoke , when under full stressload . I still need a better 'texture" file for the smoke basic pattern, but the revised smoke "parameters" ( in the ENG files ), are quite pleasing to me . In any case, this was a lot of fun to 'tamper" and "hack" through the files / next on my agenda is to use this "Shape Fixer" utility to remove the ( CP style ) RS 18u cabfront numberboards . This will all eventually lead to a fresh new 'serie" of BCR / BC RAIL RS 18C's / CATerpillar-reengined CRS 20's , and matching RS 3 slugs, which I will hand over to David ( Hancock ) for repainting . Thanks for looking ! Here is something taken further down the line . This is an RS18 repainted by David, part of the RS18 mega pack . Originally numbered 631 , I renumbered it 611, as BC RAIL had unit 611 , which was one out of only three in "Hockey stripe" scheme . I further "painted over" the top grilles, to closely match the actual ( "RS 36 -looking" ) unit 611 . Certainly adds an extra amount of realism, to an otherwise excellent repaint . Repainting those top grilles was something anyone could very easily do, with next to no experience at repainting . This is fun ! I am now working at upgrading some sound files for this serie , and already have changed the horn , to the "BCR_horn", which was part of the BCLW SD 40-2 Mega pack . What a Blast ( at 2:30 in the morning !! ) ... Don' t tell anyone , also, I had ( temporarily ) installed the "GE GEvo" sound files package in this RS 18 ( by following the process for the the BCLW Dash 944CW upgrade ) . In the meantime, I discovered a stunnigly phenomenal "sound editing package" , had come "pre-loaded" on my ( 25 dollars Value Village ) computer , and I am tweaking and "re-mixing" ( litterally ), an assortment of ALCO sound files , to produce some kind of "Ultimate" sound package for the ALCOs such as the RS 18's . Lots anyone can do, simply using "bits and pieces", straight off from the various BCLW "packages" . This is Cool ! I only have time to post the following screenshots , for BCLW products I am ( power ) using . By the looks of it, I am using a different "shape file" for my BC RAIL Dash 9 44CW ( texture repaint by David Hancock ) , than most of you . Mine is "incorrect", that much is true , but I believe this is entirely feasible to "fix it" myself , or make a 'special request" to the designer, to have him merely "pluck" the rooftop GPS, and conductor side air conditionner . And Oh, barely have time to indicate I have reworked / enhanced , the "GE GEvo" sound package I use for those, and yes, "I think" ... I may inded have succeeded at simulating the unmistakeable GE turbo "swooshing" sound ( anyone roaming around New Westminster / Coquitlam , or seen / heard those CP RAIL coal unit train with rear end DPU unit, certainly know what I mean ) . I also "fetched" the awesome "BCR horn", from the BCLW SD 40-2 mega pack , and , in addition to that , I "cut & pasted" the light parameters in the ENG files , from a previous Dash 9 44CW ( 4644 ), as offered by Andrew Pickell ( downloaded from train Sim ) . Have a close look for some step light , truck lights above the sideframes . No need to say I' d be "toast" , without BCLW ...'-) Enjoy ! Jean Brisson Mesa Grande Shops

Good observation, David ! ... '-)
This may look like a "walkway light" , but I simply "accepted" everything as defaults ( "no questions asked" ) , the entire "lights" script, from the previous Dash 9 44CW #4644 , for which the lights had been enhanced by Andrew Pickell .
As a matter of fact , because the overall 'shape" I used for the unit 4647 , here, I have to re-adjust the headlights , ditchlights locations , and fine tune the step lights and truck llights locations .
Not showing , here ( and proud of this ), is that I borrowed a "tip" used by Danny Beck / also posted on the MopHouse /MLT forum , where I very slightly increased the 'diameter" of the front headlights / ditchlights.
Even a super-subtle increase in diameter, for the light "circle" , will make your lights shine so much brighter .
One thing I'd like to "tweak" with , also, is that BC RAIL's ditchlights, and "rock lights" , did not "shine" straight ahead . Huh-huh !
Those were oriented to shine in a crosswise pattern ( light beams crossing each other at some point ahead of the locomotive ) .
I have seen this represented on a previous offering of the (defunct ) "Surfline" Route project , and I thought this can be replicated, merely by "tweaking" the angle(s) at which the light beams points out of the light casings , in the ENG file .
This may seem little "details", such as those, are really "pushing it" ( if you want ), but , now that we know what MSTS version 2 is "made of" , your assumption, David, that even within version 1, we could have such "intensity" of accuracy and detailing, and High Definition of the "texture" , is entirely correct .
On the other hand , being massively "labor-intensive" , high definition products most likely will emerge from "payware" sources . Some of what we' re seeing now, are designed by full time / professional "Games developers" .
You have to remind me, David, to send you my revised GE Turbo sound ".wav" file , for the Dash 9 44CW , and get your feedback on this ! ...'-)
And , hey , the revised BCLW website looks just great ! '-)

Nah ... this is just a "glitch" ... '-)
Seriously , I read somewhere this bad Internet etiquette , apparently, to be using quotation marks as profusely as I do .
Just a "bad habit", I guess ...'-)

Not sure if you are referring to the route illustrated with the BNSF switchers or not . Here I go, anyway ... ( someone would ask about this, one day or another )
In any case, this is not really a Route as such . really ...
I was simply "kicking the tires" of the Route Editor, just to see what this was all about .
Not much ( 4- 5 miles / 10 -15 minutes of 'running time " / mostly for models display / screenshots purposes . Happy with this, though ...
Overall, I was attempting to represent a geographic area in the Coastal Range of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, in the Fraser Canyon, where there is this area which is very unusual, and looks straight out from the Nevada desert .
Interesting to note there is zero ..."scenery" ( so far ) .
I only used ONE TILE , and the texture from it, derives from an actual digital photograph I resized to fit the tile, and made it as a "texture" file, placed in the Terretex folder , in this "Test 1 route" ( exclusively, and not in any other spots whatsoever) .
Simply using this "earthquake-like" function in Route Editor, for shaping the Tile , I basically "crumpled" up and down , this basic Tile, and this how the ambient and 'specular" lighting features of the program kicks in , highlighting everything , and triggering so much ( well... ) "photo-realism".
When the tile is left flat, as you all noticed, this looks more like a "disco dance floor " ... Really embarassing, yes I know ...
I also had te retouch the texture file edges, , for this Terretex tile, so all around its edges , this would blend as seamlessly as possible, when the tile is abutted next to others .
Hard to believe this is only One Tile, hundreds of times over ...'-)
Lotsa fun , and certainly gives anyone much greater appreciation for the phenomenal work involved in designing a "real" Route .
Hats off to THOSE guys !! ...'-)
